Porcelain Veneers are thin slivers of porcelain that are cemented over the natural teeth improving color, alignment and shape. Teeth that are crooked, stained, worn or have darkened over time could have a minimal amount of tooth structure (within 1 mm of tooth) removed and replaced with a custom fabricated porcelain facing, altering position, size and color of the teeth.
Case 1

This patient wanted to close the space in between his front teeth. Because of spacing, it was recommended to use orthodontics and position the teeth in the most beneficial place. It was planned to due porcelain veneers.

Once the teeth are in the correct position, the braces will be removed and the porcelain veneers will be constructed.

A composite mock up or preview is done to correct the alignment, determine appropriate length and position of the front teeth. This is then shown to the patient for approval and used as a guide for the laboratory in the construction of the final porcelain veneers.

The final porcelain veneers are placed over the teeth and bonded with a resin based cement. Maximum translucency and color is obtained with the help of metal-free restorations
Case 2

This patient was unhappy about the appearance of the front teeth. They are short and discolor and the patient will like them brighter.

It was recommended a small gum surgery to lengthen the teeth and give them a better length-width ratio. Several weeks are allowed for the gum to heal.

A combination of at home and in office bleaching was performed to maximize brightness and get the best out of the all-ceramic restorations.

The anterior teeth were lightly prepared, removing old composite and remaining stains. The preparation depth is within 1 mm.

Great care is taken into matching color for all the anterior teeth. Photographs with shade tabs are sent to the laboratory in an effort to ensure the best result possible

The final porcelain veneers are cemented with resin cement ensuring maximum brightness . The success of this case relies in the team approach and appropriate selection of ceramic materials as well as the latest techniques.
